An Egyptian filmmaker and writer living and working in Berlin. His video “And on a Different Note” was acquired by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York as part of its permanent collection in 2016, and his first feature-length film “Shall I Compare You to a Summer’s Day?” premiered at the Berlinale Forum in 2022 and it was the opening film at Soura Festival the same year.

A researcher, curator, and educator, raised in Alexandria, Egypt, and based in Berlin. He is the author of numerous articles on a wide range of topics, including secularism and sexuality, film and memory, queer representations, and queer viewing practices of Arab cinema.
A multidisciplinary performance artist whose work explores the body in transitional states through multimedia, dance, and curation. Engaging with themes of migration, Arabness*, queerness, and body politics, Baba draws influence from Egyptian cinema, Lebanese pop culture, and Arab* queer archives. Ahmad is also a dance/movement therapist focused on racialized sexual and gender minorities.
A Beirut-born, Berlin-based multidisciplinary artist, DJ, MUA, and event organizer. They co-founded Critical Queer Solidarity, ADIRA Party, and ADIRA Drag Festival, the first Arab* drag festival, and co-host the Baby, I’m Home! podcast.

Getting away from the classical Panel format, thus queering the panel form, the “panel” will be presented in the form of a talk show, in reference to Egyptian and Lebanese T.V. mainstream talk shows.
Mohamad Shawky and Iskandar Abdalla would be the main guests, along with two hosts Hassandra and Ahmad Baba. This constellation will allow a fun and playful interaction while focusing on the topic which is Queer representation in Egyptian Cinema.
The “panel” would be animated with clips from films.
